Plone 3.0
Thanks to Ajax, the most awaited version of Plone will be available soon. As said by Alexander Limi, people started on developing Plone 3.0.
This project will use Ajax, a Web development technique for creating interactive web applications including a mix of HTML and CSS for the visual part and DOM to show information and interact with them. The main objective is the creation of the most important Plone release in terms of user interface.
As Limi declares, it is necessary to put together the efforts made in different directions to come to a conclusion deciding which libraries and components should be used.
In particular, Limi stresses the importance to choose a solution which should not make template developer work more complicated.
He recommends to use not fully invented javascript libraries, but to start from existing ones.
In conclusion he invites developers to speak out in a specific library favour, saying that he prefers Rails libraries.
Limi urges developers to take part at the sprint in Norway, where a lot of work on Plone 3.0 will be done.
